Woman on tracks killed by train in NE Harris County

UPDATE: A young woman lying on train tracks about 3 miles west of Huffman was killed early this morning, according to a company spokesman. The train was traveling east about 39 mph when it hit the unidentified victim. It would have taken a mile for a train at that speed to stop, officials said. “It was determined this was a suicide,” said BNSF spokesman Joe Faust, adding that the incident remains under investigation.
